ridge -until a trend changes the current trend rem G'day Ridge
I'm a simple person and find I have to stick to simple analysis, so I look for 'potentially' changing trends (watching for the actual change), continuation of trends (watch for support/resistance to hold) and change of trends (support or resistance broken). In my simple view until a trend changes the current trend remains.
If you look back at the 5 year chart you will see the current pattern (similar) repeated on a number of occassions during the current uptrend.
I have no emotional attachement to gold apart from the fact its a family member of a good friend :-) I see a potential breech of the uptrend or the continuation of the current longer term trend? Just watching. Mind you greenscam said "central banks stand ready to sell gold should the price rise". Mmmm
    cheers
    Rod
PS if the 200ma rolling over has you convinced that the trend has changed, I would say watch it straighten as (if) the trend continues.
