It may well be WTI as in the past that's where all the liquidity has been.
Its only in the last 5 years of so that Brent has become probably equally as liquid or close to anyway.
They should switch to Brent if they haven't.
In fact they should have done years ago if they hadn't as Brent has been trading at 30% premium to WTI at one point.
I know for the big gas projects back in 2010/11 we were talking about using Brent as the marker as it was thought the liquidity was good enough & it reflected the correct geographic region.
