Surely by now there is no one who could believe that it is safe to take a cruise, anywhere in the world, even with every possible treatment on offer pumped into them and not think that there was a solid chance that there will a strain of coronavirus that will pop up?

Saying that, I think the cruise ship are an easy whipping boy to stir up panic.
Sure it is a large number of people who are infected with a novel cold and we can point to the exact numbers of how many they are and extrapolate the numbers of potential new numbers that will occur throughout the our country but so what.
The same or very similar strains are already endemic to Australia.

There’s no fuss about air travel though even though many more people enter Australia this way every day because due to the speed of transit it is impossible to suggest that the people caught it on the aircraft.
They can get past all measures designed to safeguard us from new strains before infection becomes apparent.

Sooner or later our state/federal government’s will have to accept that these viruses are just part of our normal life and perhaps switch their attention to stuff that they may actually be able to improve.
If they had put the money into our healthcare system that they had just spent on the various testing testing centres/Rat’s test’s we would be in a better position today to look after the very small percentage of people who are impacted in a serious way by the novel cold’s.
