with the price of beef and lamb, I reckon, fresh fish is good value these days, even at retail $$ if you can't catch your own.

Should more farm gate meat allowed to be sold IMO. Half a lamb if you can get it into the freezer.

Today I have the Aga wood oven cranked up, doing my weekly batch of lentils for nites' dinners, and 2 chooks for work lunches.

I can get say 3 dinners and a couple of freezer packs (bachelor meals) out of a $3 pack of lentils.
