Not sure what your point is good Sir, but one could surely make the argument that $361k is still a massive amount for a place that's 34kms from the CBD, and that it's only the fact that prices closer to the CBD are so high that the cost has spread outwards as young people venture further out for 'value'.
I often read the argument that folks in the good old days weren't trying to buy a mansion close to the city for their first home etc, and that youngsters shouldn't assume they can either, but I'm an old fart and I can assure you that prices back then were comfortably more manageable as a percentage of salary (and a single one at that) than they are now.
Maybe Hawkers is going back further into the past than me, but I'd venture he never had to ride 34kms across bumpy roads on his penny-farthing to get t'mill of a morning. ....
