So the mass populations all go to cryptocurrencies, the banks feel threatened as profits start to dwindle. Banks start calling in debt from a over credited society, creating a panic, people start to sell. Price of cryptocurrencies drop due to massive volumes on market. Or the banks start taking Crypto as repayment for debt, either way the banks will still be gathering the majority of wealth.
