I use coinspot to trade crypto. They have a lot of alternative coins to trade that, I believe, have far more application in the real world than Bitcoin.
They are two types of wallet, hot and cold. Hot is connected to the net (prone to risk but much faster to trade), cold is off-line (i.e. store on your external hard drive, etc).
