I will be really interested to see if MAC has overpaid for the CSA mine or not, seems to be a disconnect between the North American valuation of metal in the ground in Australia, vs the ASX valuation of metal in the ground within Australia. IGO came the closest but baulked at the sheer amount of money? The MAC special-purpose acquisitions company certainly got the "walk on water" team with Beaumont and Power and that "walk on water" effect obviously worked to get the funds to do this.
I wonder if Glencore are pinching themselves that they achieved their $1Bn price target, or if they will be regretting it later on? I guess the possibility of regret will be ameliorated by the potentially healthy royalty stream to Glencore if Cu prices stay high for a long time.
