Quite reasonably Morningstar rates CSE risk as extreme and SYR risk as very high: you could lose most of your investment or treble it. Clearly we want it treble or more. Posts in HotCopper for both SYR and CSE have that aspiration. Currently the SYR aspirational path is documented whereas CSE is not.
My thinking on CSE is market cap around $26m. Assets SYR shares $18m plus small holdings and cash about $1m, maybe $2m.
This means the market is putting a value of $6M+ that CSE is going to do something "big and unidentified" with its trivial available cash.
Perhaps CSE will sell down a significant part of its SYR assets for this venture?
I prefer to see the CSE management plan rather than speculate on the current $6m premium because "an insider bought shares."
My CSE shares are on the market at $0.195 so I can switch into more SYR shares. Happy to hold if I can't get this price.
Hopefully both CSE and SYR are extremely successful going forward.
