I was reading up about valuation of deep water oil and gas projects. It seems "multi-factor real options model" is the most accurate way but the mathematics of it compared to what I managed at school is out of this world. Interestingly enough one of the parameters it measures was "success rate of exploration" and this factor influenced the overall value of the development.
With FAR being so successful with 5 out of 5 hits, perhaps far presence long term in the JV would be seen as valuable to the overall development.
