Correction, 'back down' is the wrong word.
'Water-down' is more accurate. A backdown or backflip involves a huge loss of face. A 'water-down' allows the (current) Government to claim they are still running with the same policy, 'with some modifications'. Even though the end product will be nothing at all like the original. A 'death by one thousand cuts'.
It will be full steam ahead on the QLD LNG projects.
