Yes, imo there is opportunity and basis for Cougar to mount loud and very public legal procedings against the Qld Govt, some individuals and entities in a multi party case.

The moment the press smell a good story, the very hand that blindly peddled the govt line during the sustained, unsubtle attack on Cougar will turn and bite the Govt with a whole lot more vigor imo ... its all about stories with impact for the media.

Imo there is a very good chance such a case over the next 18 months will really hurt Qld's reputation as a place to do business and the Labor Govt's chances of re-election.

Also, I suspect such a case mounted by Cougar will bring very unwelcome focus to the nascent CSG industry in Qld as the issues of rushed Govt decisions and glossing of environmental issues get increasing press ... how ironic considering the likely influence the CSG industry had in encouraging the Qld Govt's clamp down on UCG via policy moves ... how ironic indeed.

A joined class action in these circumstances could increase publicity and be very effective imo.
