The criteria re underground water will be indentical for CSG and UCG. Both will be monitored to ensure underground supplies are not contaminated. There is a higher possibility (IMO) underground water could be contaminated by UCG methodology, when compared with CSG. But i reckon the likelyhood is both will meet govt standards, and proceed simultaneously. It's up to CNX to demonstrate their process is safe. So far they have.
