Some would say it's a long bow to draw in relation to ESG but I think it's great to have someone of her calibre and experience at that level.
Here's a recent article about her :
From the Courier Mail , Jan 28.
QUEENSLAND has a new business superwoman, with Catherine Tanna returning home to build a $15 billion LNG plant in her hometown of Gladstone.
Ms Tanna was head-hunted from Royal Dutch Shell in Holland to become the managing director and the executive vice-president of BG Group Australia.
The daughter of legendary Gladstone Port Authority figure Reg Tanna, who died in 2000, Ms Tanna is expected to be the highest-paid female executive in the state.
"Yes, I'm coming home and I'm very excited," she said from Melbourne yesterday."I'm going to deliver the LNG plant in my old hometown.
"This is what I do and what I love to do. I can't wait to start."
In her new role Ms Tanna will lead the BG Group subsidiary QGC, the state's second-biggest company before last year's takeover.
Ms Tanna, a lawyer and the mother of two girls aged 14 and 5, has been based in The Hague for five years and was Shell's executive vice-president for gas and power.
She was responsible for Shell's interests in Africa and previously ran Shell's gas and power businesses in Japan, Korea, China and Taiwan. In 2003 she led the Shell team building an LNG plant on Russia's Sakhalin Island and was responsible for a major upgrade of the company's LNG plant in Nigeria.
Family friend Leo Zussino, chief executive of the Gladstone Port Authority, remembers Ms Tanner.
He said Reg Tanna was chief of the port authority for 34 years.
"He would be very proud of her," said Mr Zussino.
"She is a local girl who has made very, very, very good. Reg would be over the moon."
