I've compiled a quick snapshot/commentary of the recent acquisitions & reserves comparisons in the CSG sectors,

1) QGC-SHG-BG:

QGC's 1P - 706PJ, 2P - 2703PJ, 3P - 7103PJ
SHG's 1P - 44 PJ, 2P - 469PJ, 3P - 8200PJ
QGC offer for SHG $1.6/share + 2QGC shares
BG offer for QGC-SHG combined: $5.75

2) Pure Energy:
2P - 394 PJ, 3P - 1241PJ,
Acquired by Arrow Energy for $671m or net $551m
Combined PES-AOE reserves: 2P- 1395 PJ, 3P-3939 PJ

3)MPO - AGL deal
2P - 175 PJ identified.
2P reserves to b upgraded to 400-500PJ & 3P:700-800PJ in first half of 2009
Offer: $370m by AGL

4) SGL:
2P - 41 PJ, 3P - 54PJ, Identified 25000PJ in Hunter Valley
Acquired by AGL for $170m or 0.425c

5) MEL:
2P - 297 PJ, 3P - 1607 PJ
Share Price: 0.52c, Shares: 132m, Mkt Cap- $68m
Possible t/o by AGL (as per 'The Australian' article)

6) ESG:
2P - 218PJ, 3P - 854 PJ
Shares: 761m, SP: 0.58c, Debt: nil, Cash 35.5m,
MktCap: $441m

Certainly seems like consolidation in progress.
