Of real interest, along your line of enquiry, is the matter of the possibility of CSG being a renewable resource. It has been mooted that gas can be extracted via the CSG extraction process and then be "regenerated" by pumping water back into the coal seam to again allow or gas extraction via the CSG process. UCG would preclude this "return" of events.
