Meanwhile, much cheaper renewables continue to be built every day on the way to a zero emission grid by about 2035. That's just 11 years away.
Where are these imaginary nuclear plants going to fit in ?
Nuclear baseload can't compete in Australia's grid today. Renewable generation continues to fall in price . And you think that nuclear is going to win that race ???
Considering that the east coast grid will be zero emission by around 2035 with solar, wind and battery recycling industries well established , what is going to be the role for toxic waste producing nuclear ?
By 2035 most car sales will be ev. That means we will be buying around 75 GW of energy storage a year just in our cars.
Even the imaginary SMRs won't have a place .
