Nice to see another drug in the pipeline and CSIRO providing assistance with it.
CSIRO bring some great expertise with their extensive chemical library which Avexa now has access to.
Here's some more info from the CSIRO website:

    Case study
New partnership to fight viral diseases.
CSIRO and a Melbourne-based biotechnology company Avexa have
joined forces to develop new treatments for serious human viral diseases.

Avexa is screening CSIRO’s extensive chemical library, using its own antiviral tests, to identify compounds that are effective in preventing virus replication.

CSIRO and Avexa are also working closely together to identify potential drug leads using fragment-based drug
    design.

A program for which Avexa was recently awarded $4.3 million in AusIndustry funds. Avexa will subsequently pursue the preclinical and clinical development of the drugs.

In this way, Avexa and CSIRO will collaborate in a co-ordinated way in an effort to discover new medicines.
CSIRO has built up a small-molecule collection comprising over 37,000 unique, mainly low molecular weight molecules.

The structural diversity in this compound library offers an excellent springboard for Australian biotech companies looking to kick off a drug discovery campaign.
