There is some good work in this study but it is a very limited assessment with regards time lines and geographic area eg geology. There is no genuine assessment of the cumulative long term impact on the water table. The industry still has major problems with the disposal of waste water which has high concentrations of salt. At the moment this is dumped in waste ponds and dumps, often close to creeks that drain into the Murray-Darling basin. So a useful study but far from conclusive, definitive or informing decisions to allow a free for all.
