i appreciate the reasonable language and nuanced discussion but with respect, there is a different argument used by the media/politicians and even amongst scientists to attempt to explain what they think is happening.

sometimes it’s global warming, sometimes it’s a climate crisis, climate emergency and sometimes climate change.

Your reference to record high average temps and peak temperatures falls in this bucket. I can’t help but notice Australia is having a rather cool (especially in terms of max temps) and wet period. How is that posssible if carbon dioxide levels are so high and CO2 is the reason for all the scary predictions?

It’s also ridiculous for scientists to pretend they can accurately model the effects of CO2 when the number of variables in any climate model would number in the thousands.

Any model with thousands of inputs could maybe predict the next 6 months of weather, but definitely couldn’t predict global temperatures in 10/20/30 years (which is why every doomsday prediction made over the last 25 years has been spectacularly wrong - hello Al Gore).
