again you are skewering the renewables as the cause of their high electricity in Germany... but it is the fossil fuel generation that has driven costs up
even coal power is more expensive than solar or wind... as it is also impacted by this global pricing mechanism.
I agree with @Leroy82 that if anything, the high commodity prices of coal, gas & oil will only accelerate the transition away from them... much like the 70's oil crisis did to v8 engines
I will keep saying it... with ENOUGH scale - renewables will replace incumbent generation forms
