Not the key issue with AHZ. I just meant in general it strikes me as superfluous for the TGA to run a full evaluation process when the EU and US have already done so. It would be arrogant (accepting that arrogant is perhaps too harsh a term) to assume that Australia does a better job then both these regulators.
I know the TGA does not make the call what level of scrutiny to apply - the underlying issue is red tape driven by one sized fits all regulation. Within reason, I believe we should leverage our relationships with EU and USA to reduce both regulatory cost to tax payers and burden to business.
This recommendation is not new - I know it has been looked out previously, but I do not know why it has not been pursued. May be very good reasons that I am not aware of.
