The CSL share split was about 12 years ago. At the time it was believed that the Australian market was uncomfortable buying shares at prices over $100. This meant the original $2.30 IPO shares cost $0.766 each.
I can't see any reason for a share split these days, CSL's shareholders are a lot more sophisticated than they were 12 years ago.
