One of the principles of any investment strategy is it should reflect your personal circumstances. It is therefore unsurprising that a billionaire could have a different strategy to the average punter. I think Marcus believes he has an edge over the market and is prepared to put in the work to use this edge to beat a buy and hold strategy. As for billionaires, perhaps he doesn't think they would or should be bothered with any extra effort/risk because any out performance will not make a material difference to their life.
