I bought my shares in the float more than 25 years ago, at about 78c adjusted for the split, and I can well remember at the time the press experts advising 'Mums and Dads' against investing; 'overpriced', 'prospects not that great', 'better value elsewhere', etc., etc.. In the first days following the initial listing the share price actually fell back a bit, and there was plenty of 'I told you so, etc.' from those same pundits.

Having followed the company through all those long years, I've heard much the same sentiments repeated hundreds of times.

In my view, CSL has competitors, but no peers, and no other comparable company comes close. Top management, Brilliant strategy, Unwavering focus, Flawless execution, Seamless CEO transition; CSL hasn't put a foot wrong since it listed.

Quality like that doesn't come cheap; never has, never will.
