Considering that the US Gov't owes US$36T and rising fast I cannot for the life of me imagine why anyone would consider buying US Treasury bonds
as an investment decision. Paying the interest on that total debt is taking up a large part of the US budget.
The US is heading for default which would make those bonds worth a lot less than their face value.
I may be alone in that opinion but anything is possible at the moment.
