    I live in Townsville and there is certainly no sugar cane here. You have to travel 100 K north or south to see any cane. Cane paddocks sold to land developers would have a minimal impact on production, if you saw the vast amount under cultivation compared to residential development. Just take a look out of the window of a plane and you would see what I mean. CSR also hold some exciting bio tech patents which can turn sugar in to just about anything eg plastics. Where are we going to get plastic from with oil running out ?
