If I can throw my thruppence in; if its anything like the dna tb tests that have been around for quite a while, eg Roche Amplicor, then the fda gave an approval for its use specifically not for detection and urges caution in its interpretation. The fda gave this qualified approval October 2001 and then gave full approval for QFT to be used for detection of tb in November 2001. Given the size of the possible/probable market its no wonder other concerns would be interested, for all sorts of reasons.
