Subject: RE: Direct Injection Retrofit Program For 2S in Asia

    Tom -

I got back last night from Manila, where we introduced the first
direct-injection tricycle. The project was officially kicked off in
Manila in June, and a tricycle (motorbike and sidecar) was sent to
us. The motorbike is a 125 cc Kawasaki HD-III. We machined new
heads and mounted a cam-driven compressor on the magneto housing.
New wiring harness, conversion of the trike to 12V, etc. We took
the conversion kit back to Manila last week and converted the engine
from a 3-year old motorbike with 70,000 km. The engine was put in a
new motorbike and mounted on a newly built sidecar. The vehicle was
officially unveiled at the Clean Air NOW! exposition in Manila on
Friday (Nov 22). There was a national meeting on Saturday (Nov 23)
to focus on the pollution problem, with representation of all the
provinces and most relevant government agencies. The DI vehicle was
    very well received.

We brought the kit back with us as we're still in the process of
calibration. The vehicle starts and runs fine, but only has limited
run time and a rather early calibration. The vehicle will also be
on display at the Better Air Quality Asia meeting in mid-December.
This is a large annual conference with 500+ attendees which moves
around Asia. It's being held in Manila this year so is a good
    opportunity to showcase the vehicle.

A non-profit corporation has been established in Colorado to
facilitate a widespread conversion project. An analogous
organization will be formed in the Philippines in mid-2004. We plan
a 15 vehicle field test in 2004, with widespread retrofit operations
    targeted for 2005.

    Again, thanks for your interest.
