Craige Tindale!!!
I don't have time to deal with all your wonderful points just now....
Except one because it shows how much you don't know!
You point:
"...Or put another way , 1.0 tonne per cubic metre , this would require them digging blasting and processing 50 cubic metres in order to get 1 OZ of gold .."
Dirt does not weigh the same as WATER! Pure water is 1 tonne per m3. Seawater is about 1.025 tonne/m3
ROCK is anywhere between 2.4 and 2.8+ tonnes per m3.. Average 2.75
At an average density of 2.75 and the cut off grade of 0.6 gpt, they would be getting 1.65 grams of gold per cubic meter.
At the average grade of 1.5 gpt they would be getting just OVER 4 GRAMS per cubic meter of ore.
That means, at the average grade (1.5gpt), they ONLY have to process 7.6 cubic meters for ONE OUNCE of gold
At 0.6 they need to process less than 19 cubic meters. A LONG way from your 50.
Besides all that....there IS a mine outside Oz, as is Amayapampa, operating at a PROFIT at 0.6 gpt. Amayapampa is 1.5 gpt with a CUT OFF of 0.6. If you recall it had a cut off of 0.4 under Vista...so why not now under a much higher gold price????
I suggest, you go do your sums again for your illustration...
Cheers
