    I would not exactly say it is a problem with chart analysis. A purely technical traders' approach
    to markets is not the same as that of a fundamental investor. They will both be right and wrong
    at times. Right and wrong must also be measured over a defined timeframe. Some traders
    make very good money on shorting great companies that go on to generate great wealth for
    longer-term holders who would laugh at the prospect of shorting them. CTM could in theory
    see some shorter-term downside even if it does outperform overtime. Some integrate the two
    approaches and others are more towards the extremes of the distribution. I personally see
    no contradiction between the two in terms of validity in general. The challenge is to know
    where one stands and not be affected negatively by those from another school of thought.
