Firstly, I care intently about the place whilst many and many more display a complete disregard for their country especially when a $ gets in between them and the environment. A couple of classic examples are the hoards of people clambering up Ayers Rock or Uluru which is not a crime though it is a disgraceful disrespect that they leave all their garbage lying all over the place and just piss off leaving it to blow wherever. Another is the drain in NSW that used to be the Darling river, now it’s been decimated to a few pools of Algae whilst the $ wins again even at small farmers expense. I am very confident that Santos especially with a less than rosey environmental record in the past don’t want any such issues and will Frack it safely ( if required) on all issues if passed the required checks and balances. I am well aware that Fracking has been going on for 60 years and more but all wells apparently leak and people know it.
Many of us are watching our country burn, much of biodiversity is getting wiped out etc etc whilst others barge in to grab a $ and leave the garbage.
So as disrespectful as you may think of me I read your words and the attitude you portray is just as distasteful.
We are nothing without clean air and water, over farming in arid lands from river systems that should flow freely to the sea but now don’t for the sake of a $ gets to many and those people have a right to be concerned especially when the governments in place don’t give a shit with especially no regard what so ever for the young people in Australia whom could vote and were completely ignored until one day they receive the place left by $ seeking plunderers and guaranteed it will be way rooted from the way it’s going. Tax payers have paid the water sucking Agribusinesses $Ms to purchase infrastructure to manage water better but to grow more without returning a drop to that river. It’s all dammed up in dams that you and I paid to provide.
Governments don’t even give a shit when it goes wrong and bullshit the public all the time so those greedy bastards you speak of have legitimate concerns.
I just hope people can show a bit more respect for their country and I will take a note to do the same to people.
