I don't know as to where you get all that crap information from (Unless you are in the circle itself) about him trying to raise money everywhere in the World and where the door was slammed shut in his face times and times again. That to me only spells two things. Either he is not as good at selling what he has, or we have nothing to sell and/or they don't like having to do any deals with the man.
You can tell us all what is the best description and most suitable in this case.
Nevertheless, and with all of the above in mind, he was good enough to conn MB in the show and get some money out of them......I wonder why if everyone else, (like you have just pointed out to us all), didn't want to come to the table.
And then on what you wrote above""he is wealthy enough to not need the job."",I do remember still about him saying that he wasn't doing it for the money either, but I am 100% sure that he didn''t knocked back any of the cheques paid to him during his tenure.
