Express post is guaranteed next day delivery to capital cities.

Also, once it's postmarked as in the mail the recipient is required to accept it as if received on the postmarked date, because you cannot guarantee how long the post will take.

I'd express post it myself, along with a fax to show the details of your account, the cheque and a nice note saying it's int the mail.
