If for instance the shorters were primarily BP's (and TLX isn't on that list) then short-covering isn't a big deal, but if the market became aware of that then it certainly would be a filip for the price. If TLX was involved then short-covering would be required I'd imagine. But again, if it became known that TLX was involved then another filip for the price.
If its simply professional shorters, then ouch! There were 7.4 million shorts as of 30 Jan becoming increasingly exposed to a rising share price. A case of musical chairs, with the music possible to stop at any moment! And the higher the share price a likely acceleration in short-covering.
