Thanks for the reply Jd. I think the problem with this argument is that you're got survivor/success bias - you've thought of two US biotechs that have been taken over early - but how many haven't? Are you picking the exceptions and mistakenly creating a rule? I can't say as I don't follow US biotechs, but that's what jumps at from this comment. Of the ASX biotechs I have followed over time (IMU, MSB, OPT, RAC etc) all of them at some point got over-frothed and bid to silly levels before the diabolical duo of (a) time and (b) need for capital meant long periods of investor boredom and share price underperformance. Unless you're looking trade dips/rips, I struggle to see the benefit of getting onboard these companies too early: usually all this offers is the 'opportunity' to participate in the many capital raises required. Patience normally isn't your friend here. CU6 is probably a good example of this - looking at the chart, 2024 was a great opportunity to realise serious gains, but it took until December 2023 just for the share price to get back to its August 2021 IPO level. That's probably my main point here to the people theorising about the 'collapse' of the share price - 2024 has to be seen as the short-term exception, not the norm.
