Hey longreach. I will have a go with this. All indicators are lagging. They have to be by very nature of their data source. For me they suit my needs to be able to mathematically track price and volume. They are not however my primary indicator. For me it is all about data, data and more data.Local and global.Data about price, about volume for sure but also the underlying market participants and employment and inflation and social and politically induced supply and demand dynamics.The quasi voodoo art or skill of analysis then becomes one of extrapolationLike that of an actuary.So have we got a bullish trend now confirmed? Some may say Yes. Some may also say that although trend can be your friend but by definition of a trending type indicator you will always be pushing against the current when in the first instance a trend reverses. I will never try no pick the top or bottom of the market because I have no need. In my example posted earlier today where statistically I was looking for confirmation of oversold. I did not get that confirmation and today missed a great day trade opportunity. How wrong I was! For me however the laws of large numbers however still stand. Which makes all trades of mine a matter of risk management. My very short time line thoughts only of course !
