You don't need to solve the issue - but companies could hedge against this scenario and put themselves in a position to benefit from it.
The SP ran up to ~$9 on CU6's inclusion. If they'd raised say ~$100m, even at a 20% discount, they could have rebought at today's prices. They'd completely mitigate the dilution caused by such a raise and still be ~$75m in the green to push their programs forward.
