This was a very good find at the time.
It was hard to know what to make of it at the time. We hadn't/haven't heard much about SABRE in recent times.
To a certain extent...it is still a bit hard to know what to make of it...
SABRE was mentioned in the "strategy announcement" (that's what I'm calling it) of 17 April 2025.
We are told we can expect "topline data" in the coming months...fair enough to be a bit sceptical about such words...we have been hearing them for some time...
The SABRE data will be interesting. When reading the BOP data - it doesn't read overly compelling (compared to what we are used to with Clarity). But I guess that might just be a product of it being used in a subset of prostate cancer sufferers where it is very difficult to diagnose/image and treat.
But...if you look at the circumstances in which you can delay publishing trial results - they are pretty limited. You can't just bury results that you don't like. Obviously, there are good reasons for this. The whole purpose of being required to post trial results is to promote transparency and advance science/medical knowledge etc.
There are two mechanisms available to you. You either seek an "extension request", or you seek a "certification". I don't think the clinical trials website allows us to see whether Clarity have submitted an "extension request" or a "certification"...but geez...wouldn't it be nice if it was a "certification" and it was to "certify initial approval"...
Maybe they are just in the process of gathering/collating data regarding the patient outcomes following treatment after diagnosis using SAR-Bombesin??? Would have thought that sort of data might be compelling if you had submitted a "certification" as opposed to an "extension request"...
Anway - we will all know in good time. In the meantime, it is fun to speculate. From what I can see, there aren't any truly negative reasons (in relation to the science) as to why the FDA would allow you to delay publishing results (putting aside the negative aspects of the emergency or personal reasons which can allow an extension request).
