Correct. But my understanding is that they wanted to test what is the max magnitude if they rupture one of the fault. And Cuadrilla modelling is 3.1 and the observed seismic was 2.9. And this was in the upper Bowland. The main target is lower Bowland and it seems Cuadrilla can get a max magnitude of 1.8. That was my understanding not sure if it is correct.
You can't control how or when rock slip or seismic going happens but only how big magnitude if you unintended rupture one of the faults and release the stressed fault.
