Mexican state-owned oil company Pemex plans to carry out a new wave of investments worth more than $400 million in the Gulf of Mexico’s Holok-Han area in an attempt to unlock oil and gas from the deep-water play off the coast of Veracruz state.From 1998 to 2018, Pemex drilled a total of 14 prospects in Holok-Han — 13 exploration wells and one delineation well — but the company never advanced to a production development phase.
