The latest shorting figure from ASIC is from the 23/9/2013 and stands at 8,990,567 shares shorted representing 4.39 % of shares on issue.
"Transparency is the enemy of corruption " Sadly that is wanting on the ASX.
ASIC have the Senate Inquiry investigating their activities or lack thereof and they have been put on notice. To my knowledge not one of their officers was reprimanded over the Commonwealth Bank inaction.
ASIC this time will be wary of incurring further Senate wrath.
