I see homeless people every day around the streets of Brisbane. I also saw it on a recent visit to Adelaide. I'm sure it is similar in other areas.
And no, these homeless people are not poor old alcohol ruined men. They are young people as well, male and female, forced to live on the streets through inadequate social networks, family breakdown, lack of affordable housing, unemployment, and one of the biggest reasons of all, undiagnosed and untreated mental illness.
The total lack of services provided to Australian citizens by a combination of incompetent governments is an outrage. As a result, Australians are forced to live on the streets. It is a disgraceful situation.
But still, the incompetent Gillard socialist Labor government persists with their non existent border protection policy. I am convinced that it has become an "ego" thing now for Gillard. She will not admit that they got it wrong, and she will not re implement the previous laws, which stopped people smuggling dead in its tracks.
So, next time you see a poor homeless Australian, think about Gillard, think about her supporters, Oakshott, Windsor and Brandt, and consider that they, prefer to provide massive assistance to illegal entrants to this Country, rather than provide that support to Australian citizens.
I am not making a political statement here, I am merely stating the facts. But, it is supposed to be a Labor government, isn't it? I thought that Labor were supposed to "care" about people.
