    I don't think that's right, Acorn.

    It's not the Australian 1st XI captain's position to be making political statements, any more than it is the position of a large company like QANTAS (etc) to be. I would think if you asked Allan Border that same type of question back in the day (although obviously a different subject as Jan 26 wasn't a widely acknowledged thing back then), he would have told the journo to piss off and stop asking stupid questions. Steve Waugh would have shaken his head with annoyance, Mark Taylor would have politely declined to answer.

    Had Pat Cummins come out and stated that it was un-Australian to want to move Jan 26 I'm sure your opinion of him would have been different.

    Mixing sport and politics never works, even if sometimes it seems to.
