Now why wouldn't the President grant them a continuation of their licence ? So long as they produce the gold and have met all expectations then it would surely be in his interests to maintain the status quo and exert his authority over the local Governor. He won't want any upstarts getting too big for their boots Besides he will probably have a special package delivered to him tomorrow before breakfast which will convince him that the licence should be approved and should have been at least a week ago. IMHO
