yr cautious advice totally welcomed on the board here. maybe the use of the word 'certain' by a bit ott, it's a specky stock after all.
but to the point where you state 'but I cant see any short-term event that either drives the SP north or de-risks this company.' that's exactly why we're getting amped on this board for the first time in a long time. we've spotted something in benitec's pr, and it matches what we're seeing in the macro environment for RNAi and doubly for benitec, gene therapy.
i get the feeling your investment strategy for a stock like benitec requires a commercialised cure in one of the programmes. i agree these are years away, but benitec sp can do very well much sooner on the back of a deal with a big pharma.
clinical data is already coming in, the biggest barriers have been lowered, the ability of ddRNAi to land big pharma $$ has been proven. everything is set.
we've known this for a while and finally we are getting the language from the Co. to indicate they are getting set to go.
in meantime we'll curtail the over-exuberant pumping, except for Cool, otherwise he gets overheated if he can't let off some steam.
but good to have some sceptical voices on the board, as it helps test our reasoning for supporting this stock and thus make better decisions. so hopefully you guys will stick around and we'll all be better for it one way or the other, in true speculative fashion!
