Do we lockdown all the people that support the vulnerable ? The staff of hospitals, aged care homes etc ? Everyone associated with those businesses from the gardeners and garbos to the maintenance people, the cleaners, the chefs, the admin staff etc .
Those sorts of people are already locked down.
Problem is, so too are the majority of the population who have nothing to do with caring for the vulnerable.
It’s not an easy solution; but nothing will be.
We’re faced with a Hobson’s choice of the least worst alternatives.
Clearly the strategies that have been pursued to date are not working
because if they were the magic pudding that is the federal government money spigot wouldn’t need to have to be kept open for a further 6 months (and when we get to March, maybe for yet another 6 months, and another after that...etc).
But I’m unsurprised you don’t get it; after all you are the one who can’t understand that counties with older populations experience higher death rates.
