I notice how you didn't add any detail to your grand plan. Particularly in the areas I mentioned.
I'm actually pretty confident we can get right on top of Covid in Australia. We mightn't eliminate it but we might get it down to a very low number. Albeit at a significant cost where we have things like sick leave for all casuals, constant testing, better tracing, more staff for aged care etc.
However, that extra cost may allow us to open up the economy significantly.
I agree that it will be a long time before things are close to normal internationally. I suspect that until a vaccine is found ( if ) we might be very limited in that area. I'm a keen traveller but it will be a long time before I plan to leave Australia again.
I think the current course, particularly in Victoria, is the right one. We are working this one out on the run. We are learning about about the new issues day by day. Adjusting our response and measuring the results as we go.
This will take time but we will get there.
