    'Why dont you tell us why the USA has 50 times as many dead per unit of population but the same % of over 65's?

    You can't just compare over-65 age percentiles in isolation.

    You also need to adjust for differential life expectancies (and not in linear fashion, either, because the slope of the mortality distribution curve at all points above the 65 age percentile is very flat, so dy/dx is small.)

    It's a multivariate factor problem; ask a demographic statistician or an actuary involved in pricing life insurance to explain it to you.

    In terms of "substantial number" please provide clinical evidence of extent so that it can be properly contextualised.
