There are currently 20 potential vaccine candidates being tested: some are in Stage 1, some are in Stage 2 and a few are in Stage 3.

We only need one to succeed.

The ones in Stage 3 are expected report their results around November 2020.

Most doctors I have spoken to, are confident we will have a vaccine in early 2021.

In any case, the Russian are expected to announce their potential vaccine in mid to late August (without completing a full Phase 3).

In light of the number of trials for a vaccine, I now believe we should continue this course - to save as many lives as we can.
